The expert will be responsible for the secure collection and preservation of email evidence in accordance with legal standards and court requirements. This is a project-based role with potential for future engagements based on performance and needs.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and preserve electronic evidence from various email accounts and servers.
- Ensure all data collection follows strict legal and ethical guidelines to maintain admissibility in court.
- Create and maintain an audit trail of all digital forensics activities, including detailed logs of data handling procedures.
- Prepare comprehensive reports documenting the evidence collection process, methodology, and outcomes.
- Be available to testify in court as an expert witness regarding the collected evidence and the methodologies employed.
Requirements:
- Professional certification in digital forensics (e.g., CCE, EnCE, GIAC).
- Proven experience in forensic data collection and handling, specifically with email systems.
- Strong understanding of current laws and standards affecting digital evidence collection and preservation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Willingness to collaborate closely with legal teams and comply with tight deadlines.
